On the Road
Dear Elmwood Community,
This week I’ve been on a whirlwind tour of Toronto and Montreal. The purpose of the trip was to meet with other Heads of CAIS schools to strengthen existing relationships, to learn more about their organization’s best practices and to hear about their plans for the coming year. In turn, I’ve been able to share with them many of the exciting and innovative plans Elmwood is undertaking as we continue to move forward with the implementation of our strategic plan.
It has been really interesting and enlightening to collaborate in such a way with other independent schools and my head is swimming with ideas. I look forward to continuing to build these partnerships in the coming months.
Forgive me for being brief, but I have one more school to visit this afternoon before I return to Ottawa. I hope to see you tomorrow evening at the Welcome Back BBQ.

As an Elmwood parent, I just wanted to say that, this weekend, I was witness to some outstanding coaching. At the Canterbury Basketball Tournament, Karine coached with gusto(!) our girls to victory with outstanding plays, strategy and skills. This very early morning, in the dark before the sun rose at the Ottawa New Edinburgh Club, under the auspices of Derek Howe and Dana Borschewski, equipped with flashlights and megaphones, they gave high quality coaching to our rowing girls on the waters of the Ottawa river. Dedication, commitment, passion for their sport – our daughters are fortunate to be lead by top notch coaches who are transferring the enduring athletic principles that will help them all through life.
